Getting Ready to GO again!

Excited and nervous.  Those seem to be the two prevalent emotions that I'm feeling these days.

This will be my second trip to Chad.  In some ways I feel confident, that even though I don't understand all the nuances of this culture, I have some idea of what to expect and won't be nearly as surprised by it.

I am most nervous about the fact that I am "leading" this team.  I feel the weight of responsibility for preparing this team cognitively, but mostly spiritually.  Our team has already experienced times of feeling oppressed by the enemy.

Each week as I have prepared for our team meetings a couple of scriptures come to my mind.  The first is Proverbs 3:5-7 (from the Message)  "Trust God from the bottom of your heart;  don't try to figure out everthing on your won.  Listen for God's voice in everthing you do, everwhere you go; he's the one who will keep you on track.  Don't assume that you know it all.  Run to God! Run from evil!"
The other one is Micah 6:8 (also from the Message) "  But he's already made it plain how to live, what to do, what God is looking for in men and women.  It's quite simple; Do what is fair and just to your neighbor, be compassionate and loyal in your love, and don't take yourself too seriously, take God seriously."

Remembering that the work of God in Chad is HIS and that I am only His servant is very freeing. It brings comfort knowing and being reminded that even though I'm going there for the second time, God has been there for a long long time!
I probably said this in my blog last year, but it is something that I think I need reminded of often.... If I can trust God with my eternity, certainly I can trust Him with my now!  So true.
